We win as a TEAM and we lose as a TEAM!!!!!
I have been involved in youth football for many years and I can tell you that all you parents should be very proud of these young men. Sometimes when sports teams are losing games they make up excuses and start to blame each other. But not the Cardinals, they have supported and respected each other regardless of the score and that is a foundation of a good team…And make no mistake we are a good team and will continue to work hard and improve as a team.
We loss this week-end to a very well coached team that is made up mostly 2nd year players. Our Defence held them 2 times on the goal line, and that is very positive.
HAMMER AWARD: Seb Figut, Seb made some huge blocks and tackles, not to mention the tackle that saved a TD on the goal line.
OFFENCE AWARD: John Michel and his entire Oline ..they played great and got off the ball really well.
DEFENCE AWARD: The entire DEFENCE. They played great as a unit.
GAME BALL: Zack Aboud, 5 Solo tackles and 3 assists as well as an intersection. Great game Zack.
Lets have a great week of practice as we have 2 big games this week-end.
Coach Terry

We are all winners
Tuesday June 15th, 2010
We might not have won our 3 games but the team proved to everyone that that are all winners.
1st game vs. St Bruno. St Bruno are the 2009 defending Atom provincial’s champions. I belive that the team played well but we made a few mistakes on offence and had a hard time moving the ball.
2nd game vs Greenfield Park. The Packers have 2 Mosquitoes teams they had 60 kids try-out for the team. They made a AAA team and a AA teams. We played the AAA team and yes they out played us but they did not dominate us .
3rd game vs Western Pats. Well I must say it went very well. The defence did not allow the Pats to move the ball as they started to attack and took control of the game. The offence were make great blocks and executed the plays very well .
To put things in perspective, when the Refs asked for the captains before the first game I asked the 2nd year Cardinals to raise their hand as I wanted to pick 4 captains from the returning players. Well I was shocked that I only seen 4 hands. It then hit me that we only had 4 returning players, 15 players that moved up from Atom and 15 brand new players that have never played in a football game. With that being said we did very well and am very excited about coming season.
I want to thank again all the parents that made the day a huge success with all the snacks and drinks that were provided.
And last but not least a huge congratulations to the Bills , not only did they win all 3 games but the defence never allowed a point. Way to go boys!!!!
Coach Terry
The Cards are starting to BELIEVE
Tuesday June 1 st, 2010
We Believe…..IN Each other
I must tell you guys that we are coming together as team. I have noticed that most of the kids are smiling when they arrive for practise and smiling when practice is finished….I have noticed that every Friday night after practice many of or team run to the park behind the baseball field…Kids will be kids. Many of the new players are starting to understand the game a little better and we see our scrimmages are getting more exciting.
Hammer of the week: T-REX Coming off the end and smacking the Running Back.
Effort of the week: Duke Spinsby A new player that keep getting better every practice…Keep up the good work.
Defence player of the week: Brandon Slawaska He made a great play by stopping the reverse…Great job.
Offence player of the week: Joey Corcoran Ran the ball very well and followed his blocks…
Most improved player this week:Joel Walker One of the winners of the PHONE BOOTH…Keep working hard Joel.
Funniest Moment: I noticed a player had not attached his shoulder pads…While I was helping him attach his straps. I asked him did you forget to attach your straps….He looked at me and said "I never know what those thing were for" .
THE CARDS ARE HITTING THE ROAD
As you all know, we have entered the team in the Bruno Heppell Football tournament.
- When: June 12 2010
- First game: 09:00…please be there for 08:00.
- Second game: 10:00
- Third game: 11:00
- Where: Centre Sportif Rosanne Laflamme 7405 Tarasse du Centre St-Hubert
- Why: To play football games before our season starts to evaluate or team and the kids will have a blast.
This will be our 3rd year and the kids have always had a blast. Much of that has to do with the parents volunteers that make snacks and bring drinks for the kids. Please stay tuned as Kellie will be asking for some help for this event .
I am looking for a parent to video tape our games. The reason is that I like to evaluate the game/practises so I can find something positive that a players has done. During a game and/or practice there is so much going on that it is impossible for the staff to see everything. Please let me know if your are interested.
See you all on the field
Coach Terry
